Maria von Egidy – Designer and MD - is classically trained in garment design, construction and patternmaking and is widely recognised as a master patternmaker, particularly in the field of 3D design. Her design and technical skills also cover furniture and interior design.  Maria has a few inventions under her belt, but it was in discovering the possibilities of human flight that she found true inspiration and a meaningful application of her skills.
When presented with a wingsuit for the first time, Maria immediately saw that the design could be improved.

This moment was the birth of what we call:

The result was what came to be known as the SugarGlider and over the next two years we developed and perfected the SugarGlider wingsuit, building around 12 development prototypes with different features. We have a huge debt of gratitude to the experienced skydivers who gave their energy and expertise during this phase of development.
